private

I was reading Scott McCloud’s introductory comic about Google Chrome just now. For reasons we won’t go into, I was interested in the “private” mode – similar to what the kids are calling “porn mode” in the new release of Internet Explorer.

There were a few panels talking about it – it’s for keeping surprise gifts a secret, of course. But here’s a question: am I just being paranoid when I point out the qualifiers: “on your computer” and “in your browser” in these two panels? I mean, there are other places (um… suggestions anyone?) that that stuff could be stored.

    And again the comment is:

“Going incognito doesn’t affect the behavior of other people, servers, or software. Be wary of:
Websites that collect or share information about you [, ..... ,] People standing behind you”

Hmmm …. anyone know a website that collects information and uses it to index advertising so as to generate $B a year ??

…. or have I just come up with a brilliant new business plan ??
